Birthday Cake Popcorn Recipe RC 169 - Yes, as a lover of anything sweet and salty, I knew it would be a winner. Plus, it involved rainbow sprinkles. Enough said. I had grand plans to take it in little plastic baggies and made this the day before going on holiday. Let’s merely say it never made it that far. Between going back for “just an additional kernel” and munching all day while I worked, all I had left to fill my plastic baggies were popcorn seeds. Oops. Here’s what ya want!
INGREDIENTS Birthday Cake Popcorn Recipe
1 bag light butter popcorn
1 c. white chocolate chips
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
3 tbsp. Funfetti or vanilla cake mix
1/4 c. rainbow sprinkles
Step by Step Birthday Cake Popcorn Recipe
- Pop the popcorn in line with the package’s directions. Set aside.
- Combine the white chocolate chips and vegetable oil in a tiny, microwave-safe bowl and heat in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted.
- Put the popcorn in a gallon-sized resealable bag—being attentive to exclude any kernals—and add the white chocolate mixture and sprinkles. Seal and shake before the popcorn is coated.
- Spread onto a baking sheet within an even layer and top with added sprinkles, if desired. Cool in the refrigerator for 20-25 minutes before serving.
